By using OverlandingWorld you agree to these terms. They're short and written in plain language.
What this site is
OverlandingWorld is a free, community-maintained directory of overlanding places (campgrounds, mechanics, water sources, etc.) and a gallery of community badges. Submissions are reviewed by a human before going public.
Using the site
- You may use the site for personal travel research at no charge.
- You may not scrape the site without permission.
- You may not use the site to commit illegal acts.
- You may not interfere with the site's operation (denial of service, abuse of submission flow, etc.).
Submitting content
By submitting a listing, badge, or photo you confirm that:
- You own the rights to the content or have permission to share it.
- The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You grant OverlandingWorld a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display the content on this site and in derivative materials (e.g. social previews, sitemap).
- We may decline, edit, or remove your submission at our sole discretion — typically for accuracy, safety, copyright, or community-standards reasons.
Accuracy disclaimer
Listings are user-submitted. Coordinates, operating hours, prices, and contact details may be wrong or out of date. Verify critical information before relying on it — especially for border crossings, road conditions, fuel availability, and medical contacts. OverlandingWorld is provided "as is" with no warranty.
No liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, OverlandingWorld is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or from acting on information found here. Overlanding involves inherent risk; use your own judgement.
Removal requests
If a listing about your business is inaccurate or if a badge shows your work without permission, email hello@overlandingworld.com and we will respond within 7 days.
Changes
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be announced on the homepage. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the site operator resides. Disputes will be resolved in that jurisdiction's courts.
